What does this mean?
A home energy assessment will need to be obtained to list homes in Hillsboro
What is a Home Energy Assessment?
A home energy assessment looks at the systems of a home to assess the efficiency of use.
What is the Score?
The score is 1-10. 1 being inefficient 10 being very efficient. This score does not factor
occupant habits.
Why?
To give home owners and potential buyers a clearer picture of energy costs for a specific
home. Knowing the energy costs of a home is an important factor in assessing the
affordability of a home.
How much?
Home assessments cost between $150 and $250.
Now what?
The home energy report will have a list of recommended improvements to better the
energy efficiency of the home. Sellers and buyers are not required to do any of these
improvements.
